Genç yönetmen Higurashi, zombilerle ilgili düşük bütçeli bir korku filmi çekmeye karar verir. Pek de yetenekli olmayan oyuncularla çekime başlayan yönetmen İkinci Dünya Savaşı zamanında terk edilen bir Japon tesisini kullanır. Ancak çok geçmeden sette gerçek zombilerin saldırısına uğrarlar. Ekip ve oyuncular son derece tehlikeli olan zombilerden kaçmaya çalışırken yönetmen bunu bir fırsata çevirmeye, her şeyi kayıt altına almaya karar verir.
