Mafya lideri Don Barberini, bir barda kiralık katil Moskovitz'i beklemektedir. Moskovitz'in görevi, "Balina" lakaplı Otto Krampe'yi ortadan kaldırmaktır. Tam bu sırada, bardaki yan odada bir Fransız-İtalyan film ekibi, yeni bir polisiye film için oyuncu seçmeleri yapmaktadır. İşsiz aktör Gregoire Lecomte, bir katil rolü için başvurur ancak yanlışlıkla mafyanın toplantı odasına girer. Mafyanın konuşmalarını film senaryosunun detayları sanarak, görev aldığını düşünür ve Saint-Tropez'e doğru yola çıkar.
