Victoria dönemi Londra'sında geçen ve müthiş oyuncu kadrosunun yer aldığı arsız bir komedi olan Histeri, dünyanın ilk vibratörünün icat edilme öyküsünü anlatıyor. 1880 yılında, meslektaşlarının ortaçağdan kalma uygulamaları karşısında hayal kırıklığına uğrayan genç bir doktor olan Mortimer Granville, özel el hizmetleri ile kadınları tedavi eden Dr. Dalrymple hesabına çalışmaya başlar.
