Müfettiş Gadget sakar, dalgın, dikkatsiz, çevresinden bir haber olan bir müfettişin macerelarının anlatıldığı çizgi film. Gadget bir insan olmasına karşın vücudunun çeşitli yerlerinden çıkan yararlı cihazlar suçluları yakalamasını kolaylaştırmaktadır. Görevlerde her zaman şef Kuinbi'den aldığı kağıdı okur ve şef Kuinbi'ye atar ve kâğıt kendini imha eder. Suçu hep Dr. Pençe işler ve onun bir kedisi vardır. Dr. Pençe'nin yüzü bir kez olsun görülmemiştir. Pençe'nin Çılgın(Mad) adında ajanları vardır ve ne zaman Müfettiş Gadget'a saldıracak olsalar yeğeni Peny onu kurtarır. Gadget çizgi filmin sonunda ise çocukları bilinçlendirecek örnek kurallarla ilgili konular söyler.
