Russell T. Davies’in yazdığı altı bölümlük dizi Lyons ailesinin yıllar içindeki değişimine odaklanıyor. Brexit sonrası İngiltere’de politik yaklaşımlar oldukça popülist hale gelmiş, ABD’de Donald Trump tekrar seçilmiş, Çin‘in tüm dünyada ağırlığı artmış. Artırılmış gerçeklik, yapay zeka, implant teknolojiler iyice hayatımıza girmiş. Artan dijitalleşme aile bireylerini ve aralarındaki ilişkileri, jenerasyonlar arası iletişimi ciddi anlamda zorlar hale gelmiştir. Dizi günümüzden 4-5 yıl sonrasında İngiltere'de geçiyor. Dönemin sosyoekonomik gerilimini ve dünyadaki siyasi durumu İngiltere'deki bir geniş aileyi odak noktasına alarak gayet başarılı anlatıyor. Teknolojiyi ve insan ilişkilerine etkisini de son dönem Black Mirror'ından çok daha iyi aktarıyor. Bunda karakterlerle bağ kurmamızın da etkisi büyüktür tabii. Göçmenler ve yükselen sağın yanı sıra siyasilerin kitlesel korku ve "save the children"ı kullanması konuları da işlenmiş.
