Priča se vrti oko Shu Oume, srednjoškolca koji nenamjerno stiče sposobnost nazvanu "Moć kraljeva" koja mu omogućava da izvlači predmete zvane "Praznine" od drugih ljudi. Zatim biva uvučen u sukob između grupe otpora pod nazivom Funeral Parlor, koja ima za cilj da obnovi nezavisnost Japana od kvazi-vladine organizacije poznate kao Glavni štab. U tom procesu, Shu se mora suočiti s teretom koji mu njegova sposobnost nameće i užasnom misterijom svoje prošlosti.
