Piloten Peter er alene på et brændende fly. Han gør sig klar til at dø og betror sine hemmeligheder til en radiotelegrafist. Det lykkes ham at overleve ved at springe ud af flyet. Han møder kvinden, han talte med, og de to forelsker sig. Men i Himlen har man begået en fejl. Peter skulle faktisk være død.
