Freddy Heflin este șeriful unui loc pe care toată lumea îl numește „Terenul polițiștilor”, este vorba despre un mic și aparent liniștit oraș care este populat de marii polițiști de oraș, oameni pe care el îi admiră de mult. Cu toate acestea, ceva urât se petrece în spatele acestei aparențe calme a orașului.
